Latest mod...

new fmic and lower i/c piping. didn't use the upper i/c pipe because my oem one is already setup with my meth and the upper i/c pipe doesn't make much of a difference anyhow. myself, travis, and my father installed her yesterday along with some cf goodies and my summer wheels/tires. go team

What kind/brand is the FMIC? Does that lower IC pipe have the flange that connects it right to the turbo, or is it just a new plumbing (hard to tell from the pic)? I had a bitch of a time removing and installing my new LICP.

removing the stock licp was simple...installing the new one was a chore. the hardest part was plotting out the correct way to couple the pipes to get the cleanest flow without effing the couplers. took us a few minutes but once we held the stocker up there we were able to mock it out and bolt it right up. the i/c and lower i/c pipes are the xs power pieces sold on ebay that have had great results for our car. couldn't justify spending $ for the ams/buschur units when this one flowed just as well and made just as much power. if you do a search on evom for the author 4tun8 you can see all the different tests done. pretty cool stuff. and can't beat $200 shipped through a group buy on evom.

i believe its an XS POWER intercooler setup.. there was no flange, just new pipe routing. install was pretty straight forward and simple with the exception of having to trim the undertray to clear the new intercooler. sucks bout the timing chain cover though.. they sent him the carbon fiber timing chain cover for the evo8, NOT the 9 which needs a relief to clear the mivec setup on the intake cam gear. she needs a bath but looks good.

XS sells a lot of shit under different names it seems. As long as it doesn't leak and the fin design is tight, it should be fine.

Seems to be working so far in the Evo/STi community...probably the most used FMIC right now in both worlds. For the money you can't beat it. SSAC/XS Power have even been doing group buys for people. 29/30psi today with no leaks. So far this unit gets my of approval.

I been saying that since I dynoed my car and made good power. I see people spending like crazy amounts for these brand name FMICs.
