Boosted Cavy Update

Well alot of people have asked for some information about the build of my Cavalier (yes it's a Cavy) So here is the list of the buildup this past winter and a couple teaser shots I took last night. The engine should be dropped into the car this weekend and startup is likely a couple weeks away Anyways here is the list:

Fully built 2.4LD9 engine

-Engine bored and stroked to 2.6 liters
-Custom Grind Camshafts
-Fully built race head (1mm oversized Stainless valves, 10k rpm valve springs, titanium retainers, internally ported and exhaust polished)
-Custom 65mm TB
-9.0.1 Compression Wiseco Pistons (.020) overbore
-Eagle H Beam Connecting Rods
-Knife edged and cryotreated crankshaft
-Melling 2.3 HO Oil Pump Conversion
-Extensive oil galley porting
-ARP Head and Main Studs
-Cometic .074 Head Gasket
-Clevite 77 rod and main bearings
-Balance shaft removal (-12lbs off rotating assembly)
-Custom windage tray
-W41 HO Intake Manifold (Internally ported)
-Garrett T3/T04E exact specs are a secret
-Custom Turbo manifold with ext. wastegate
-Tial 38mm wastegate
-Greddy RS BOV
-FMIC 28" x 7.5" x 3.5"
-2.5" Custom Charge piping
-3" Custom downpipe
-Greddy 720cc Injectors
-Casper Billet AFPR
-GM 2 Bar Map Sensor
-Hallman manual Boost controller
-DevilsOwn Methanol Injection
-Cry02 Intercooler Sprayer
-HPTuners
-Vortech FMU 1:1
-Innovate LM-1 Wideband

Click the pics for larger versions:

Conservatively speaking the car should easily see the 400whp mark with potential to go well over the 450+whp with this turbo on race fuel and appropriate tuning. Either way in a 2600lb car this should be pretty impressive

Hahaha you are correct I'm running lightweight 17's on the car now and the front tires will be the Nitto NT01's. The car isn't being built for the track it's a highway warrior

I blew out my stock tranny last summer when the car was supercharged. It now has an NVG T550 transmission with Torsen LSD in it. The tranny was only put in the Achieva SCX autocross cars and is supposably good to over 500whp... although there are no definative numbers so I guess we will see

I'm also running an ACT 4 puck solid hub racing clutch. Surprisingly this clutch although aggressive and has some chatter I find it to fairly decent for the street. The axles are my main concern as they are stock and have been known to fail in higher hp cars... There are some aftermarket ones out there i'll be looking into next season

Im sure that your tranny will be able to handle it. Theres a guy on another forum Im on that has a twincharged cutlass using the stock 282 tranny. Prolly same one as yours using just different gear ratios. Awesome work though! cant wait to see that thing!

Don't need specs.

Dependent on your BSFC, 450whp represents the upper mark of your fuel system's capacity using 720cc squirters.

That's assuming you upgraded the pump and have balanced flow to all injectors on what i'm going to assume is an upgraded rail with negligable pressure drop between injectors. Without that, cracking 400whp safely won't happen.
