Who are you kidding? It runs and it's straight.
Naked... but straight. All that's left are cosmetics and steroid-influenced tire sizes and some suspension/brake work. She could drive to long island tomorrow if I were determined.
April 25th sounds about right though.

I say neither head gasket and just go OEM, since there's nothing wrong with them. Why not just put lower compression pistons in it? Simple, effective. I keep forgetting what exactly it's called, but why would you mess w/ the squish/quench area?

I say why not just leave the damn thing completely stock. No special HG's, no pistons, no tweaks, no fancy smancy. Travis seems to always have issues with money and if that's the case just get the fucking thing running and stop wasting money on stupid shit in a car that is beat, not too mention way in over his head financially....

I'm not trying to start any shit, it's just the truth I mean seriously, the car isn't even running, he's up 10 feet past his ears in debt on it, and he's considering about adjusting the CR with different headgaskets??? Retarded in my opinion. A stock block Sti with an FPG has more capability than I think Travis can truthfully handle right now anyway....... IF he can manage to get on top of the POS and get ahead of all the little shit that keeps popping up.
Travis may pull some stupid stunts every now and then but I have no ill towards him. If it gets moved to FC so be it.
Travis....stay OEM, get the fucking thing running and tuned for a moderate boost level, and then drive the damn thing. Take money that you have to put towards mods and start knocking down that principle a bit and climb your ass out of that hole-of-a-car at least a little bit. THEN go ahead an play. Just makes sense

I say the same thing to many people (some on this site) to keep it near stock as possible and stay away from fuel upgrades that require changing of injectors/fuel pressure.

do as you wish, but with the luck you've had with that car I'd get it back to running stock and sell it asap.

Shawn, come on, how would you know about the troubles and headaches from a heavily modded car?

Bwahahahaha :-x
Seriously, a stock block STi is capable of putting down more power than many of us could properly handle anyhow. I'd get it stock and running fine, then i'd just drive the freakin' thing and focus my money on tires, brakes and event fees. In fact, I'd say forget all this cash with forged pistons and whatnot. See if you can find a used motor or a brand new shortblock, some fresh OEM headgaskets and bolts. Then you'd have a zero mile shortblock with guaranteed OEM reliability. That's what you need more than anything right now.
Of course, I'd love to take that advice on my own car right now, but unfortunately she requires more than just body repairs. She needs a resto, pretty much.
