Greetings From The Capitol Region...

Hello all. Just thought I'd put a quick post in. I'm originally from the Rochester, NY area and I recently moved out to Albany in January for work. I got a job with the State out here. In any event, I used to be a regular on RocLife.org when I was in the area. (and was a Team Vertigo member before they fizzled...) I'm wondering tho if anyone knows of any clubs or groups I could get involved with in the Capitol region? It's starting to warm up and I want to find some gear heads to hang out and cruise around with. I've already seen a few sweet rides around Albany as it is. There's this sweet late 90's or early 2000'swhite Trans Am I've seen at the local Advance Auto a few times. Also, anyone know any good tracks (and not JUST drag tracks...) in the area? I never joined the SCCA though because I think they frown on trucks, which sucks... Any other ideas for how to have vehicular fun out here? I must admit, I'm a bit homesick...

-Thanks,

-Kevin "The MailmAn"
-a.k.a - FuryFever.

Acronym Warzzz...

Yes, Latham Advance Auto... Do you know him? What's he got?

Also, okay, I don't do acronyms I don't know... What is: LVD, WGI, and LRP? And as I said, I prolly can't Auto-X because they don't allow trucks to Auto-X... Even though I wauld like to "road race" the truck... like on a circuit track. Just to have fun. I doubt I could do a fast time with it, but... lol.

My whips...

Well, let's see... I own a 1996 Chevy C1500 pickup with the 4.3L V6.
More info can be found here: The 1500TT Project - Home

I also own a 1975 Plymouth Fury 2 door hardtop I've put a bit of work into. I just finished paying off the last $1100 I owed on it to the guy who put a whole new front suspension on for me. I WAS planning on bringing it out to Albany with me, but when I test drove it, it overheated... Damn radiator sprung a leak from sitting all winter.. So, now I need a new radiator in it.. I tell you, it never ends...

I also need some body work and painting done on BOTH my vehicles to keep them from rusting (further). Anyone have any ideas on good body shops in Albany area I can go to that WON'T rip me off and do good work (more welded metal than bondo, good paint, etc...)?
