War of the Worlds

Well, after most of RoS took on Regal Cinemas tonite....all in all I felt the movie was good.

I read parts of the book back in the day, as well as watched the TV series. Some things could have been done better, but I think it carried the message and story across well.

That little girl so looked like a mini-madonna

I'll give it 5/5 ::

I saw her do an interview on the Today Show or something and I think she should try to get a refund on her childhood.
She talks like a freakin 30 year old.

Having read the book and being a big fan I couldn't really give the movie anything more than a 3/5. They made it more into a big budget showcase film instead of an accurate interpertation of the book.

I thought it conveyed the message very well. Most people think that when a movie is "based" on a novel that it was to accurately follow every detail that the book did. Most times thats not the case. Hence, they say based on the novel, and not an accurate interpretation of the novel.

If someone hasn't read the book, then I would wager to say that they would think the movie is great. It starts up fast, and definitely gets its point across. I think there is a lot of suspense, but there were things I would have changed.

I was just disappointed in big Steve since he did such a stellar job with Jurassic Park in turning the book into a movie...I just thought they left out a lot of key things that made the book more suspensful and exciting. The movie made it out to be a big game of hide from the aliens.
