by your theory they should be called the "lock brakes" since spinning tires is bad, they should lock up and not move

lets spell it out a little clearer so you can understand...... ABS prevents the locking up of brakes so the driver can get more control.... sliding is bad. If sliding wasn't so bad then they never would have created ABS.

when I say "spinning", I'm refering to the first idiot driving and how he was spinning his tires on a iced over road with no traction. I guess you somehow read that as me saying that all tire movement is bad.... yeah ok

locking your brakes and spinning your tires both are sliding.... the best solution would be try and guide your car away from obsticles by letting the car roll with minimal brake usage. I'm not saying it would have worked in this situation, but that is the best option.

So if your "best solution" woulnt have worked in this situation, whats so bad about doing what the driver did? And if its the "best option" wouldnt it work in every situation?
