Thumbs up Best cell phone provider....

I have Nextel now and my contract is up, but im done paying 70-90 a month for a crappy phone with no real perks, and a better phone like a i860 is like 400 bucks, ha fuck that shit maybe if it came with a free handjob from the fresh bitch behind the counter selling it , anyways. Im torn between Verizon or Cingular. some one chime in with their experiences.

Cingular is what I've had since last April or so and I really like the service and the phones. I have the LG CU400 now, and so far so good. I got it today. Before this, I had the Sony Ericsson Z520a and then a RAZR for like, a week.

Pete is on a distinguished road

Always had Verizon.
No free hand jobs from the fresh bitches, but I can't complain.

evoWiPeR is an unknown quantity at this point

i gotta say i am ok with paying 75-80 bucks for my cell phone, i have the 870 and i have pretty much done everything u can to it. I have dropped it, kicked it, ran over it, dropped it in oil tank, spilled whatever is in a garage on it... beal seal, and i gotta say it works great. I usually have about 1500-2500 minutes on my phone each month so i guess my plan really isn't that bad. Free incomming 500, w/ 500 outgoing, night, weekends, free national long distance, and free nation wide walkie-talkie. and if i text it only 10 cents per text.... i still haven't caught onto that fad yet

CDMA is an older wireless technology when compared to GSM, which cingular uses. I would switch to cingular for the technology reasons, but the service is less apparent than verizon's. The benefit of GSM technology is using SIM cards also, so you can swap them if you ever want to switch phones.

On Cingular and Nextel, you can use their Bluetooth for data transfer. Not just for use with a headset. Like today, I was sending ringtones to my coworker's Nextel through Bluetooth, meaning no charges for texting, just pure data transfer. With Verizon, you can't do that. If you wanna connect to your computer for ringtones/games/pics/vids, you can use Bluetooth.
Verizon's use of Bluetooth < Cingular's.

I have verizon and I am happy with the service but they nuter the phones so you have to use their vcadt stuff to get tones vids and music on them. from what I have read you can hook a singular phone to your pc and put whatever you want on it and they dont care. where as verizon disables blue toth functionality accept for the stupid headset amongst other useful features. great service shitty features guess thats my verizon thought.
