I have 5 or 6 good friends who are VT engineers and I've been on the phone about this all day. Went to high school with some of them and met others through engr programs at the Univ of Maryland. Lots of good friends down there are missing best friends, roommates, etc. Horrible, horrible day for many people. Please keep them in your prayers. I'm probably going to head down there later this week.

The magnitude of this is absolutley amazing. It's truly something I will never understand, how a person takes the life of someone else for what? Because they had a fight with their girlfriend.
Not only am I sad for the families and friends of those who were killed in this shooting, along with those in the past. But also for those individuals who can reason commiting murder, instead of finding the help they need to overcome their short comings.

yeah it was crazy just watching the body count rise. of course the stupid media would come up with something like suggesting it was terror. i mean the situation is bad enough, but they just look for ways to make it worse for everyone

I've read stories that the students were jumping out of the classroom windows to escape the gunman. One student said how the professor stayed behind to block the door, but then described how he was unsuccessful and he was shot and killed.... absolutely terrible.

Not sure if anyone has heard yet, but they finally announced that the gunman was a student. (He was also asian, but they mentioned that yesterday)

This is a terrible thing, but am I suprised by it at all? Nope.
I could almost see it coming. Im going to have to go with one of my favourite quotes on this one. "One death is a tragedy; a million is a statistic." Joseph Stalin I'm sorry, but I refuse to be heartbroken over this, when there are much worse things happening everywhere else in much larger numbers. Disclaimer: By no means im saying that this isn't a tragedy, but this isnt the end of the world either, it was bound to happen sometime, things like that seem to occur every once in a a few years in one shape or the other.

listening to the radio this morning ( PYX 106.5 ) they mentioned that. They alaso had clips of interviewed students that were in the class/students of the school.
They were saying that the parents of the victims want the president and and someone else fired because of they way that they handled it.
