eh, still the only benefits would be local transfers...

Currently even with FiOS you are limited to ~30mb down, which is still well within the capacity of 100mb

great, super... right now 100mbps is more than enough, but in a year or so when Gps is more available, the 360 will be even more the suck.

i'm not arguing for 360 at all, just saying that network speed is an advantage, but imo not really going to make or break someone. GigE is finally starting to become more available to people at a decent price....I'm not sure what sort of things PS3 can do locally though. Does it act like a media device also?

ohhh... look what article popped up on msnbc today
(note: the "MS" in MSNBC stands for Microsoft)

Is the Xbox 360 a good bet for consumers? - Games - MSNBC.com

"The competing products, Sony’s PlayStation 3 and Nintendo’s Wii, each have 90-day warranties, but neither is plagued by widespread reports of hardware failure on the Internet, especially on gaming-centric blogs and message boards"

"One may understand or even forgive problems with the initial batches of the new, complex video game hardware. But a year after launch?"

They are extending all warranties to 3 years cuz they are such a giant POS

You might as well just give up, though I agree with you, you will NEVER convince a Xbox 360 fan that it is inferior to ANYTHING.

you pay for xbox live because it is way better than the ps3 online, way better, thats why the PS3 online is free, because your just connecting to gamers to play games, its not a whole network like xbox live
