surgery 10/30/07....

as most of you, if not all know, i broke my right wrist when i totaled the 600RR... went in for surgery on tuesday to repair it... now before i go any further, litocaine and demerol are fuckin awesome drugs!!! and im still juiced up on them and some hydrocodone as well. the surgeon ended up inserting 2 titanium screws and 1 titanium pin to fuse the bone back together as well as remove some small chips off the bone from the fall. i was told when i woke up that it was the single worst break of that bone this particular doctor had ever seen. surgery took approx 1.5 hours for all the repairs. they elected to go with a local anasthetic called a beer block which forces all the blood out of ur arm by using a massive rubberband and then tournaquetting it off just above the bicept and injecting litocaine in the arm to deaden all sensation. im now in a splint and taking huge doses of hydrocodone for the next 10 days til the doc brings me back in to remove the stitches and then cast it for another 6-8 weeks before i begin physical therapy. just wanted to share that im still alive and in some pain, but will be back bugging u all in no time. peace out from ur friendly local 1/4 cripple (slow taco having full cripple honors)

Glad to hear the surgery went good.....Now when I had surgery on my hand, I found that hydos and a couple shots was just what did it for me pain wise. But if you have a weak stomach I guess not go that route. Good luck w/ recovery.

Shit. You did that much damage? I had knee surgery a few weeks ago but I've had 3 already on the same knee so I am used to it.

Demerol (spell?) is amazing shit. Hydrocodone is weak as fuck.

You will be sore for a while. Remember to rehab it.

650mg of hydro barely numbs the pain... the pin is actually sticking through the skin to keep things in place. this shit sucks donkey balls

Damn bro,i hope you get better i remember they game me a shot of demeroll for my headaches and it didnt touch the pain,so i think JD works.Make sure you rehab and listen to what doc says.
