Dirty, Filthy, Cunt

yet another story of Hillary "the cunt" Clinton ripping off the american people. God help us if enough of you liberals vote for her. This is a good 15 minute watch.

Campaign finance reform anyone?

Maybe this will trigger a few results since elected officials are so resistant to do anything. But hey, why would they change the provisions that help get them in office and make it extremely easy for them to stay there?

We're headed towards another election of "the lesser of two evils."

Bingo! The Republicans have fucked this country probably beyond repair but nothing fantastic in the Dem world. No matter who you get, they lie and have an agenda. I just don't want a religious freak (in any direction) leading this country.

Definately needed. The amount of money we waste on campaigns could help many many big programs like (education/health care). It's like baseball, just keep spending and spending. Why can't we have a $x limit?

We do have $ limits, in several stages. But they are so low, soft money is the only real way to raise campaign dollars. No politician will change it because it is the way they got into office, and being an incumbent is a sweet gig. I forgot the percentage of politicians in office compared to newly elected politicians, but its outrageous since existing officials are so hard to unseat (biggest problem with campaign regulation, imo).

It also breeds garbage like the Swift Boat Veterans and other smear campaigns and 507 group contributions that politicians get to say "Oh I had nothing to do with it." If you dont remember them, search the anti-Kerry videos on Youtube. I wasnt a Kerry supporter, but those were way, way over the top.

Politics is dirty and only the big boys can play. The public really know very little about what really goes on, but time has shown it really isnt in our interest. I agree with the ol' Federalist argument that the public is stupid and emotional and given too much influence, will destroy themselves, but the separation between politicians and the people the represent is too big. This is how things like campaign finance reform stall and keep hurting the country, while the politicians wont change it.

End mini-rant. I'm sure my political views differ with many of you, so I usually keep them to myself.

The general fucking of policy has been in both the Democrats' and Republicans' hands since before the Rs held the house in the 90s. Bill Clinton wasnt the savior many people make him out to be. Bush DOES suck, but I dont think Kerry would've been any better (Bush vote here). People blame presidents for a lot of policy decisions but whatever starts with the Pres, ends with the other hundreds of elected officials in the government, and vice versa. Point being, the Democrats are just as guilty as the Republicans. If it's just a battle between two crappy options, I'm not thrilled about the whole system. Best way to fix this is to EDUCATE the public through sources other than the news media (again, garbage coming from both sides) and the Daily Show. Bush is easy to hate since he isnt well-spoken, we got it, but 95% of the active Bush haters only hate him because they have the 365 Bushisms Daily Tear-Off calendar. Educate yourself and read a history book with some facts in it. Oh yeah, and improve voter turn-out to something better than an eastern European country.

Looking forward nervously to the future dissolving of at least one party and a realistic middle of the road party to form and represent the growing (fast) independent registered voter that cant relate to the nutjob Democrats or the nutjob Republicans, which, sadly, is probably going to be me soon.

<---- Capitalist above all, with mild secular conservative tendencies.

One love.

Although I'm registered Dem, I know that it's the no-guts no-glory mentality of the Rep's that have made us who we are today; the independant - the independence that no one can take from us. Unfortunately it's the extreme Rep's, like Bush, that have made the world view us as nothing but a tyrant. We need to once again bring together the heads of both sides that made us who we were and make the country, and the world, see that with opposite views working together, a great harmony is generated.

I remember when I was such a huge Dem that I actually had a hard time talking to someone Rep. What a fool I was.

The Reps have made this country into a bunch of scared kittens. Scared of Iran taking over the world? You f'ing kidding me? The Iraq War is getting to be Vietnam quality too. When does it end? 2 years left?

Shawn- Are you in the school of thought of "The Taliban was just a bunch of nice guys?"

The Iraq "war" is going to remain Vietnam quality since its just a military operation, not a "war". Much less paperwork, easier diplomacy, etc. Troop levels are being maintained at a level that it takes to get the job done. So we can turn it into a real war and get it over with in a week by sending over a few 100k more troops and the big guns, keep it as it is, or pull out (not going to happen, pull outs of combat situations = huge losses = military pissed).

No one's afraid of Iran taking over the world, we're afraid of a bunch of religious freaks with nuclear arms that hate America. I dont think Team America: World Police is a good foreign policy, but once we've started, we cant just stop. Time to take out all the bad guys.

No. I am all for revenge for the people that are responsible for 9/11. However, we are in the wrong country.
