Buying a TV

I am going to buy a TV for my parents this Christmas, our celebration of the birth of Christ, little baby Jesus, and I was wondering which is a better buy for the money? 1080i or 1080p. Personally I think LCD's are way better then Plasma's but what do I know? I am just a dumb consumer.. help me out here guys..

No joking around this time.... Serious Business

I agree, LCD > plasma.

depends on how you parents use the tv. I would only invest in a 1080p set if your parents are enthusiasts that have (or will have soon) a blu-ray/HD DVD player and surround sound. To have a top notch system without equivalent components is just a shame.

Now I know why they call you Mr. Awesome, as that is Awesome information. Now, I can make an educated decision on the TV I will be purchasing here in the near future.

DLP > LCD or Plasma

Wanted to throw that into the ring for you...but seriously DLP will have the cleanest, most crisp image with very true to life color. Right now Circuit City has some amazing deals going on. You should invest in something like this:

Buy the Samsung 46" DLP Projection HDTV and other Projection TVs at circuitcity.com

or...you can be a uber baller and rock a 57" Mitsubishi 1080p DLP for super cheap. I got this same TV 6 months ago from Tweeter...I paid more than this

Buy the Mitsubishi 57" DLP HDTV and other Projection TVs at circuitcity.com
