this is almost as ridiculous as the people who complain that wind turbines kill too many birds a year (around 1.3 birds/windmill/year)...

I am a contractor for NYSERDA and when I have to work home shows for them I always get the crazy's yelling at me with all kinds of good stories.

At this point the overall situation of the wind power industry is really really shitty in NY. They have no regulation on power production and very little regulation on putting up windmills in small towns.

The money to be made in th wind power industry is fucking HUGE at this point with no regulation on power production. NY has already been divided up between the companies setting up the towers and NONE of them are US owned.

It just plain sucks to see all this money leaving the US.

As for the noise issue brought up in that link posted. The newest generation wind turbines spin at an alarmingly slow speed due to issues with noise and birds. They have become much more efficient and leave a much smaller footprint on the environment.

Yea I didnt realize about the Fenner Wind Farm in cny is all going to some power company in the midwest I believe, which is then sold. Only cny people who get any benefit from it are the ones who have them on their property, essentually free electric for life.

I love the windmills and like mentioned above, wind turbine is a making a huge comback.

I'm with you there 100% but you do realize that's our governments fault, right? Our government is focusing on oil so they don't care about wind power therefore they won't fund any US based wind-power companies. Always look at the bigger picture my friend.

actually NYS has helped fund every Large scale wind project in NYS.

Problem is we are about 15 years behind Eroupe when it comes to the wind power industry.
