Projector opinions?

I'm in the market for a projector. I'm looking for something under the $2,000 mark so that pretty much leaves out any 3-chip DLP's unless you know someone that has one for sale. How are LCD projectors? 3-chips seem to be about the same price as 1-chip DLP's and I'm afraid I might be affected by the 'rainbow effect' with a 1-chip DLP when I project this onto a 10' wall so it may seem that 3-chip LCD may be my only option. But, I don't know, that's why I'm asking here.

All opinions as to types and brands are welcome and encouraged.

badtang is on a distinguished road

i have an optoma dv-10, and i love it. built in dvd player. theres nothin like playing gt4 on a 23' screen. the picture quality is great, specially when the xbox360 is plugged in, but even the ps2 w/ components looks great. no weird effects, very bright(works pretty good in alot of sun), picked it up last black friday for $450, with a free 100" screen, and a free subwoofer. it retailed for around $1100 at the time. stop by and and watch life sized porn, and you'll never know how you lived without one...

Well I don't think anyone here can tell you if the rainbow effect will bother you. Thats something that you are going to have to determine yourself. There are plenty of people out there that have no idea what rainbow effect is nor can they really see it, it all depends on the individual.

If you wanted my opinion, I would go with the 3-chip, even if it costs slightly more.
