Places to travel?

We're looking into a vacation at the end of may since I've got about 150K delta miles and 185K marriott points to use by the end of this year. With mrs. preggers over here, that leaves right around the end of may. We're looking at going to Aruba since it's only 32,500 delta points per person to fly there, and we can stay free at the Renaissance Marriott for free as well.

Has anyone on here been to Aruba or have any other places to check out? We looked at Italy, but no hotels available to use points at. There is also the option to go to Palma Mallorca off the coast of Barcelona, Spain.

Any thoughts?

any island in the Caribbean. If you can use those points towards a cruise than I'd suggest that.

see 4-5 islands in 7 days... can't beat it. If you are a person that gets bored with stuff easily and wants to keep moving and doing something different then a cruise is perfect for you.

Southern coast of Spain is absolutely beautiful and a great place to relax on the beach. Problem is it isnt very touristy and it's where the Spaniards go on vacation. There isnt much history and culture to absorb in Barcelona either. Great spot to lie on the beach (best weather I've ever experienced ever. ever) but you wont get the full tourist experience if that's what you're going for.

Italy is beautiful an spain isnt bad either. Just be aware that IF u do come overseas to either of these places that yes the flight an hotel are free which is great but the EURO exchange rate is absolutely TERRIBLE.

We've been on several cruises on both the western side of mexico and the Caribbean. Both were awesome, but we wanted to try something different. Also, I can't use the points towards a cruise, unless I involve my Amex points also.

Yeah I've been to Barcelona before and I had a great time. Granted I was 16 at the time, so it would be different. Looking into it more closely, the hotels available to use points aren't that great anyways.

I think I might book Ireland for the end of May and Aruba for December. I can use my Amex points to convert to delta points to make up the difference I might need for the Aruba trip. It's a tough decision to pick only one, but if we can do both, that would be great. Just need to find the monies to be able to do stuff there.

Anyone know if Dublin is a safe area?

Aruba is a long way to take a newborn baby. (Unless you planned on leaving the baby with your parents/in-laws)
