Project Z: Phase II (Pic update 4-16-07)
Sorry guys, I'm documenting this project in a multitude of forums, and spending too much time doing so rather than actually working on it. I will have everything centralized in the next two weeks. PM me if you would like to continue viewing progress, and thank you for all the great support and responses!!

What do you have planned for her?
Please say an RB swap w/ rivet-on fender flares.

Close!
It will be a RB or SRD motor, and I own a composites (fiberglass, carbon fiber) shop, so no rivets
Those pics were taken yesterday at the shop, fist day I had a chance to start tearing off the doors, hood, hatch, etc. GOnna drop the tranny and get the fenders off today, Gotta wait 2 weeks for the rotissarie, so I'll be stripping the paint and interior in the mean time. Don't know if I should take off the windshield, I'd like to leave it on if I can, as thats the only think I haven't done (windshield replacement) That hatch can be sent to a glass place, so thats no biggie. Anywho, the basics;
- Rotissarie restoration (Building the rotissarie at Mahany welding, then bringing it to the shop)
- Paint it blue, not decided on actual kind of blue
- Staggared, deep dish 18" wheels, maybe 17's in the front if I can get them that way
- just a subtle widebody
- shaved bumpers
- Square tubed chassi build (it's a unibody)
- Black cloth interior, new rugs, seats etc etc. Havent decided if i want to do any fiberglass work on the inside of the car, but I'll probably end up making use of carbon fiber in some areas
- Engine wise, I'm not going the 350 route, sticking to a nissan motor swap

Very nice. As for rims, I'd go with a 16 personally. I dig old school Jap cars and their styling.
Color: Bayside Blue Metallic from the R34's looks amaz-z-z-zing. Or even Daytona Blue, same as used on the 350Z's.
RB FTW.

After alot of research and talking to people who have done them, only the guy who spent another $10k to recess the firewall, recess the engine, balance the car, stiffin the chassis, and get major suspension upgrades said it was worth it. The V8's have destroyed MANY of the 280z, as the balance is way outta wack and in alot of cases, torque literally twists the car into a candy cane. As much as I'd LOVE a carb'd V8, it's not what I'm after. Even if it was, my focus is starting with a solid body, inside and out, as this car is going to stick with me for a loooong time. Just looking to build a solid car, then I can toy with aluminum big blocks later in the game
Besides, IMO, an RB or SRD swap as a better, mmm, "appeal" to me. The 350 would have that shortcut feel, like, yeah, we know, it's a big block V8

I hear ya. I guess what I was picturing was that same kind of stance as "Elanore" in Gone in 60 sec, nice tall wheels that said "Yeah, I got the balls to spin these till 5th gear" lol
But yeah, totally haven't decided on wheel sizes, make or models, just kinda had the thought
