Pulled the motor...

I finally went to a buddies to pull the motor and fix EVERY problem on this car. Surprisingly, there wasn't that much wrong except some fluid leaks and some light rusting.

Compression check showed every cylinder at 145. This is a friggin stock block that I beat the shit out of it. Anyhow, the heads should be off tomorrow and I should see where the coolant leaked out right in the middle of the head due to the flexing. The heads are then off to the machine shop. I am going have this bitch clean as hell and ready to go in a month or so. I am psyched. Honestly, the maintenace of this car is soo much more satisfying than modding. I much rather have a healthy car than a sick car with mods. It took away from my mod budget but it's going to feel really nice when it's all back together.

BTW, that red car in that first pic went 11.2 @ 130MPH+ with LESS mods than me. Pisses me right off!

Here's some pics:

I just had nightmares about seeing a car that's just STARTING to have work done to it.

God. If tomorrow I woke up and I were starting the MR2 project all over again, I don't know what I'd do.

I'll have it done. The only wait is going to be the machine shop. However, there's a lot of things to be done in the mean time. I need time to retune it and bring it back on the dyno. So much to do and so little time and money.

Those guys will be down for the NY3S meet that's in Albany, NY so hopefully I can get some of those guys to LVD.

The heads were flexing and pushing coolant out. The heads are going to the machine shop to be fixed so I can run more boost. I am quite happy that I made that much power with issues. Time will tell.

No. That's not Frank's car.

No rub. We dented in that area a tad to make room for the turbo compressor.
