LOL At least you are properly trained. As I was leaving the dealership, A mechanic pulled up in a white durango. There was clearly a shattered front differential in the vehicle. Mechanic says to customer "This is unsafe. It's either a wheel bearing or differential, we'll have to pull it apart and take a look." Explain to me how you can confuse a wheel bearing with a shattered diff? That's like saying he's low on blinker fluid. The wheels were skipping because it was locked for gods sake! Not to put you down, I don't know about your expertiece, but most mechanics at dealerships are glorifed parts changers and have no clue of what do do without going to the computer, punching in the problem, and having it spit out a few parts to try swapping. It's pathetic on the car manufacturer's part to not properly train the emplyees that are repairing their vehicles.

Luckily I work in sales, and not service. So I don't have to deal with the nightmares that go on over there.

hehe parts is only a portion of the service aspect of things...i LOVE the flat rate labor system. find a job that says it takes 2 hours book time... charge 2.5 for rusted or corroded issues and bullshit plus an hour of diagnosis time and have the mechanic finish the job in 35 minutes... @ 85$/hour now THATS what i call profit. and im assistant service manager at a local dealer just for the backround...
