New Whip
Sunday night I went down to Long Island to check out a black 04 SRT-4 that I found on ebay. Monday morning when I arrived at the dealership and looked at the car, I noticed it had an AGP 50 Trim turbo and billet wastegate actuator installed. The rear driver wheel had serious curb rash, but I didn't let it scare me away. I pulled the car off the showroom floor and the owner of the dealership hopped in. He told me he had to go to the bank, and gave me directions to get there. Upon arriving at the bank, he said "You can get a better look at the engine now that it's outside and there is a lot more light." I hopped out, popped the hood, and gave it another look. There was some oil leaking from the valve cover gasket, but thats not a big deal. When he came out of the bank, he hopped in the drivers seat. I never got to drive the car warm. I told him to put it in 3rd doing 30 and put the pedal to the floor so I could see what the car was boosting at and listen for leaks. The car hit 5psi and stopped. There was massive vaccum leaks under the hood, and got knows what else. Now I'm pissed off because I took the train down there to drive a new car home and I didn't have one.
I went online at my friends house, found 2 srt-4's, one silver, one black. The black one was at a dodge dealer. Drove to the dealer at 4pm on monday, drove it, car was 150% there. It had a big FMIC at some point because the previous owner never put the crash bar back on the car. Got them to knock 1600 off the price by finding small stupid cosmetic damage. Left a deposit, told them to have it ready by 5pm the next day. Picked the car up on Tuesday at 5pm, went out to dinner and drove it back home to Albany. Everyone thats seen it so far can't believe the condition of the car, especially considering its black.
Anyway, I slapped my deck, sat radio, and AEM CAI on it today at the shop... Here she is...
Black 2004 Dodge SRT-4
Stage 1 ECM
Stage 1 Springs
A/M 30 psi boost/vac gauge
AEM CAI

Nice Car, you happy with it?
going to get a new car is always fun lol.
that happened to me, before i bought the 7 i found a eclipse gst on autotrader that seemed good. had pics of the engine bay (really clean) nothing wrong with it and all that. drove out to east hartfor CT (paid someone to take me cause i planed on bringing the car home with me if it was like it stated)
i got there, the kid wasnt even there just his parrents. and this car had so many things wrong with it. the engine bay had oil all over, he used screws to hold up the pillar, no heating, break lights on, car kept stalling, lots of noises, and the list went on.

Very happy, to say the least. It rides better and runs better and faster than my red 04 that I bought last summer brand new! I think the previous owner may have had a big turbo on the car, the stock turbo looks like it has 0 miles on it. The motor is extremely clean, not the slighest residue of grease anywhere around the motor or trans. I'm actually suprised that I could find one in this condition... I thought I was gonna be looking for one until mid-late spring at least. Oh and its got an 8 year 80k warranty. I paid 4 grand more then what I was going to pay for the other car, but it's worth every penny.
By next weekend I'll have my eyelids, clear side markers, BOV, and CAI bypass valve installed. Wheels are getting powdercoated gloss black in a week or so, and hopefully I'll have it tinted by Friday.

Nice pickup. That other car screamed scam. How the hell a dealership would even allow that crap.
What's the plans for this?

The guy didn't know anything about the car. It's a privately owned and operated exotic car dealership. He had 4 Ferrari's, a 911 GT2, and an old twin turbo maserati parked next to the thing, haha
Plans for this? I've got some stuff for the car, nothing out of control... Appearance-wise it'll be done for Autofest, minus the seats being recovered. I'd like to get low 11's out of it by Summer '08. I'm going to focus on appearance this summer. All black and CF, thats pretty much it. I'm debating on CF body parts, if I do get them, they will be painted black anyway.
I have to start designing a new system because I built the one I designed for my last SRT in a customer's vehicle. I will never build the same thing more than once.
