My gt35r STI

Here's my car for those that have not seen it. It's a 2005 STI, I bought it new in November 04.

I ran a best of 12.4 @ 108 with a 1.6 60-ft on the stock turbo at Lebanon Valley... no race gas, thru a cat, on a self-tune.

... and then I put a gt35r on it (stock vf39 is on the left)

I installed everything but the clutch myself, tuned it myself, etc. Here's a partial modlist.

Cobb AccessPort + StreetTuner
Perrin GT35R Kit .82ar w/Tial 44mm EWG
PE 850cc injectors
SMC Alcohol Injection Kit
XS Power FMIC
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
Apexi AVC-R EBC
Borla Hush 3" Catback
Goodridge Stainless Brake Lines
Hawk HPS Brake Pads
RPS MAX 6-Puck Clutch
ACT Prolite Flywheel
Kartboy Shortshifter
Cusco Motor/Tranny Mounts. All Group-N, Kartboy, and TiC bushings/mounts
A whole bunch of gauges
Lots of heat wrap

It ran a best of 12.01 @ 118 with the stock clutch slipping like mad. I had the clutch replaced with an RPS 6-puck, and made 415whp @ 26psi on KTR's dyno dynamics. A stock STI makes around 215whp on that dyno! A 20g/green @ 20-22psi on pump makes about 330-340.

Not long after those dyno pulls, a ringland let go. To be honest I was really expecting it. My compression numbers were 130-130-130-80. Two ring lands were broken on cyl #4. Everything else inside the motor was fine, besides a chunk of mystery metal that was in the oil pickup tube.

The car is at Synapse Motorsport right now being built. Here's a pic from when they pulled the motor.

And here is a basic rundown of the new setup...

CP Pistons 8.5:1
Pauter Rods
OEM Crank polished/balanced
OEM Bearings/gaskets
Block bored to 100mm
Cosworth AVCS Cams 278/274
Supertech dual springs, Ti retainers, +0.5mm oversize valves
Heads ported/polished
Perrin v1 fuel rails
Buschur dual in-tank walbros + Aeromotive A1000 fpr
Cosworth oil pump
Cosworth timing belt guide + PE kevlar timing belt

At the moment we are waiting on machine work... waiting sucks

I'm hoping the car will be done in a month or so, but who really knows. Synapse has been really fast with everything so far, so I think things will move quickly once the block/heads/crank come back from the machine shop.

I have a little weight loss plan for the car, too. Gonna take out 50lbs of rotating mass and a total of 350lbs+.

My goal is to see 11's on pump gas and trap 130+ on c16. No cage for me, and if I do get one, it'll be the minimum to pass tech at LVD. But first I need to get kicked out for runing quicker than 11.5

An awesome car. Makes ya sick it goes through the gears so fast. One of the fastest imports in the area and probably undefeated on the street.

Jay, very nice. I am sure this was a bound fate for mine too, although you must admit your 2.5L will surely run faster than my old 2.0L now

Good luck and keep us posted when you are headed to LVD!
