The Maroon one is my '87NA. The Gray one is the '91T. I just purchased a full JDM Recaro Interior for the '91. More plans are in the works...

I prefer the torque the 7M provides and the parts that are readily available. I also got a great deal on the 7M. If I decide to go start another project, it will be a 2JZ Mk3.

1JZ is only 2.5 litres, 7M is 3. It's also just another JDM engine that is popular because it's factory in japan and instantly has that aura of 'cool', much like the SR20. It's not a bad engine but it's not what everyone thinks it is, much like the SR20. They're just more popular there which instantly means it's a better engine. /sarcasm

Yeah among other things. The 1J came stock with an almost bullet proof bottom end, metal headgaskets, much better flowing head, but at the time, it just wasn't in my plans. It's def. a great motor though.

I never knew that the reason they were so cool was because they are jDm tyTe!!1

I think you would Def change your mind once you have experienced a 1j first hand.

The power comes on so fast and strong, and stays linear throughout the power band.. Its nothing like a 7m. Its a totally different feeling.

If I had the money to put a 1J in my MkII, I would do it in a heartbeat.. But I dont, so I will have to settle for a 7m (which I also dont have the money for, LoL)

I had the privledge of riding in this rhd (JDM TYTE) 2.5 R mkIII, which totally sold me on a 1j.

Thanks for the compliments guys. She's getting painted next month and will be sporting a new Do-Luck type 1 Front bumper, Bomex Sides, and Kaminari rear bumper, as well as, a full JDM Recaro Interior. I'm in no way putting down the 1J. They really are incredible motors. I think you'd be impressed once you felt a built 7M with a Frank 5 20g. It's on the smaller side and starts boosting around 2400rpm.

So much for that JDM Recaro interior. I was supposed to go pick it up on thursday and the prick sold it on me. I hate when that happens.
