I'm pretty sure I'll be running 215/40 up front and 225/40 rear after some research. I just need to find someplace that can mount them. its not to extreme a 215 on a 7.5 and a 225 on a 9.5 but i know like sears can't do it.

any suggestions of places.

And Nick the only companies that make an rear fender add ons are BN sports and Vertex Ridge and they are widebody over fenders.

You do that, I will find ways to get away with killing you.
What a fucking waste of a wheel. Roll the god damn fenders and man up with the rubber size. The car's going to look like a horse drawn carriage with tires that small.

Do u have Spacers on the Rear. If so I'd loose them. I would recommend doing a 235 on the rear a 225 really would be that safe. You might want to look into Falkens FK Series Tires. I dont know of any place that will take the liability to stretch a tire the much.

I could possibly run a 235 in the rear it wouls just require more roll/pull and I personally don't like a huge pull on an SC. Stretched tires allow for more stable and slower initiation speed in drift because there is less tire flex. 225's on a 9.5" wheel are more than safe as I have seen professional track driven cars running 205 on a 9.5" wheel. I'm not stretching the tire just to be cool here. I'm doing it for function and fitment. There are only 3 companies that make rear over fenders for my car and thay are all wide body kits. That will come in time but with better wheels and after engine work.

Ohh and Moai sportmax are junk. I paid $290 shipped for all 4 wheels. They are just tiding me over till I can find a set of very hard to find 19x10 19x13 SSR's. then the sportmax will be track spares.

Yes go ahead and flame me for drifting an automatic... no its not all about the ebrake...its all about big torque and throttle control.

so probly 225/40 on the 18x7.5 and 225/40 maybe 235/40 on the 18x9.5. on the 7.5 there is almost no stretch on the 9.5 it will be a decent stretch but no where near unsafe. I ran 175 stretched on a 7.5" wheel in the rear of my hatchback and noone ever even realized. Def. got rid of understeer

Just to prove my point:
225/40 on a 18x9.5 in back of picture
245/40 on an 18x11 in the front of picture

and for extreme 215/35 on 18x12

I had 18x7.5's with 225/40's and not only were they band-aids but they were just wide enough for the wheel. With that short of a sidewall, I really don't think you'll be able to stretch them onto a 9.5. If you maybe went 45 series or even 50 it may be possible but since you already need to roll and pull the quarters it makes no sense, you should just put a 245s on.

A couple quick questions; are your spacers hub-centric and why did you get such high-offset wheels for the rear in the first place?

*edit* OK, I just saw the pics. Not safe looking by any means. Good luck to you.

Is this your DD? If so, I'd suggest not going too aggresive on the tire stretch. you can do your weekend drifts without the tire being stretched just fine.

The way you are talking about drifting, it seems like you expect to go pro or something. And if that was the case then why the hell did you get an auto?

What he said. Power over is one of many techniques you would need to drift. Some courses dont have enough room to do that. 90% of drifting is clutch work. E-brake usage is shunned as a last resort. Clutch kicks own. Two much power=Loop de loops.

I actually do expect to go pro.(once i finsh business up here and move to my friends house in California) Auto's are cheap and easier to find since there were only 3000 manuals ever made. And a 1jzgte manual swap is only $1500 OR a 6 speed getrag v8 is only $5000 away but in that case getrag gearing is not that optimal for sliding.

did anyone even read the entire thread? I bought a 240 for a daily
