Chain and Sprocket Kit??
I've been thinking about getting a chain and sproket kit for my R6. I can get two black sprokets and a gold ERV3 chain for $200 shipped. Besides looking pretty sweet, I would get a -1 front and +2 rear. I guess some people on the R6 forums said that the 06+ R6's have crap for torque in the lower rpm rangs, so I figured a kit like this might help open up the torque and shift the power range lower in the rpm band. I guess its called a 520 conversion
What do you all think?

Yeah, every R6 owner should do it... it makes a WORLD of a difference... I rode a stock bike and immediately hopped on one with a -1 and +2... it's worth every penny IMO

That's cool one of the guys on stuntfactoryx said that I should get the speedohealer too, which means I have to factor in another $100 lol

what percentage shorter is the overall ratio??? Jim went from a 15 to a 13 on the front on his bike and it was too short (he now has a 14), but adding the +2 on the rear for you might alleviate that

Stock is 16T front and 45T rear. I'd get a 15T front and 47T rear. I guess that's why its called a 520 conversion because it uses a 520 link chain or something??

yea the speedo might be a lil off, so unless you like to do some quick math and dont mind your speedo bein off a lil then you should get somthing to compensate it. my cbr was -2+5 and was 20 mph off, so when it said i was doing 60 i was really doin 40

It'll run your engine about 2% higher RPMs for the same speed according to my rough math... That doesnt sound like a huge difference to me... Jim changed his 14% (15 -> 13) and it was too much, then went to 7% (15->14)and he is pleased. Of course his bike doesnt rev as hard as yours but its some indication.
Not that its all related your setup would be like me going from the 3.42 gears in my Camaro to 3.49s... the next step made for my car is a 3.55 (4%), 3.73 (9%), or 4.10 (17%).

I'm also not looking to turn my bike into a stunt bike. Stock ratio is 2.81, and with the new setup it would be 3.133, so that would be about an 11.5% drive ratio increase.
Just enough to shift the torque curve slight to the left I mean I've got all the way to 16.5K to rev
