possible to live with JUST a motorcycle? opinions welcome, what rspeeders live off

I've been on my friends bikes and I haven't riden extensively or had tons of experience but I'm not a complete n00b and I've been bmxing since I was 12 or 13..that being said I was planning on taking the bike course at hvcc and getting my license. I looked at some bikes, namely an sv650 or maybe a used bike to learn on for a month or two while I'm here that I can sell just before I move. Real question is, I'm moving to arizona for school in august and I don't really need a car, plus mine is just a money pit. So I'm going to sell my car and buy myself a bike for transportation. Since I wouldn't have a car anyways a bike is better than nothing, right? Does anyone have just a bike for transportation or does anyone think it's a huge mistake?

get a cheap winter/daily. In NYS you cannot count on a bike due to rain/hail/snow.

However i know plenty of people that commute to school/work primarily with a bike with good gas mileage (under 500)

my mistake, skimmed that bit. You can try it. I still think it might be a good idea to get a $500 car or some shit.
