Well there is no gas valve on the bike, but I planned on leaving it with a full tank of gas. The tires are pretty much brand new so it sounds like stands may be a good investment to avoid flat spots. What do you guys typically lube the chain with? I am a noob when it comes to this stuff, so, sorry for all the dumb questions.
We use....Chain Wax...by Maxima racing Lubricants. Maxima Racing Usa - Overkill but as long you are are using a chain lub/wax you should be ok.

if you cant see the fuel shut off then its right underneath your tank...thats where mine is so you have to lift the tank to get to it...i know stupid but it will be worth effort...and these arent stupid questions its obviously your first time with a bike thru the winter...ya gotta learn somehow
The damage you do to a bike when pop starting it is far more than what a battery tender costs....Spend the $30-$40 and buy a battery tender. Fill up the gas tank and put fuel stabilizer in it!
right but like i said he can just take the battery out and bring it inside and he has nothing to worry about at all
or you can just be like me and not winterize at all and ride year round...unless theres snow on the ground theres a good chance I might have one of my bikes out...
oh and by the way you could always convert your bike to a sled...a buddy i work with says theres guys up at his camp that have bikes that are now converted to sleds tracks and everything
