HVCC Basic Rider Course
I'd like to get a bike this summer, and am planning on signing up for the beginner's course offered at HVCC. Anyone else signed up for this? A bunch of slots are still left, I'm thinking of signing up for one in early June...
Just wondering if anyone else is signed up, or has taken it at HVCC, and has any comments, suggestions, etc.

me and dj used to ride up to deli and brew to eat lunch then watch people take the course lol

yep, i took it, its a great course for any one, new or old riders. You get your lic. and an insurance discount for motorcycle and car insurance. I took mine on one sunny hot day and the next day was 50 degrees and pouring rain, so be prepared!
yep, we watched them the one day when we rode up there....WTF were we doing anyway, i know we went to deli and brew but i cant remember why the f we were up that way and i wasnt at work?

I took the course last summer out here in Binghamton and as others have mentioned, its well worth it. Its also very easy.

Weeee, signed up and paid...so on June 11th, I will be a licensed motorcycle rider!!!
  Next question, do I have to go to the DMV and get a bike permit before I take this course? Or is that not required?

yeah if you don't have your permit when you go they will tell you to leave lol
Also you won't be licensed on the day you take the course. It ends up taking about 4-6 weeks to get your license after your take the course. Congrats though! When are you coming to visit so you can see Eri's belly?

yep, get your permit before goin to the class, i renewed my permit 3 times before i went and took the class to get my motorcycle endorsment. The permit is only good for a year and you can only renew it 3 times or your SOL.
