never had a bike before
i havent ridden a motorcycle in my life i have a total of maybe 2 hrs of ride time on a honda xr 80 or w/e it is. and that was like 6 years ago.. i can ride quads like theres no tomorrow.. but they have 4 wheels.. anyways.. im looking to buy a motorcycle, i see alot of cb740's forsale that dont run and i want to rebuild a bike because i dont want to buy a brand new one. and ill only have like 700 at max to spend on one. if i didnt have a spending limit itd be a r6 and when better at riding an all black r1 <3 . but what are your reccomendations..are cb750's good for starters? thanks guys !

this coming from someone who doesn't ride a bike anymore!
pssssst if hes buying a bike to rebuild for $700 good chance he's not going to want to spend $275 on that course!
as for the bike...well its a Honda, so the quality is there, and parts should be very easy to find for a rebuild...would be a good starter bike since its def not loaded with power...I say go for it!

yeah thats honda cb series bikes are good starter bikes from what i've heard... I still would recommend taking the msf course, and make sure you have enough money to buy good gear.

lol im goign to take the course and i have my permit the only reason i wont spend alot on a bike is because i dont want to buy a new one and drop it or somethign while learning. and have to pay big $$ to fix it. if i get a bike for 350 bucks that needs TLC and some parts , atleast it wont be thousands of dollars on the ground hehe not building a permanant bike jus ta learner and i pla on getting good gear i used to live on dennis kirk's website when i used to drive my quads alot hehe

If my mom can get through it, I'm sure you won't have a problem (and I don't even know you!!)

Yea I am planning on taking the course, although the one in 'Cuse is booked till august. I may see if I can get in one in the July range in Utica.
Good to know im not the only noob who has never rode a bike before. Im getting my permit next week, my brother has a 600 Bandit I can play with, but I really feel like I should take the course, im not as fearless as my dumb little brother.

finally got a chance today to go ride my brothers Bandit 600. Had an awesome time, granted it was just in a giant ass parking lot, but you gotta start somewhere. Worked on getting myself familiar and stable on the bike, turns, etc, no real crazy speeds or anything, 30 tops.
Gonna go get my permitt tomorrow at the DMV if all goes well, practice some more in the lot this week, and hopefully this weekend hit up the road for some action. So far I am pretty happy, I wasnt sure how Id take to a moto so I am takin it slow.
