Track grip was completely dependant on temperature (big difference from morning to afternoon), which means there isnt much rubber laid down on it yet this season.
Otherwise, its the usual shitty LRP pavement. Same bumps and concrete patches that were there 20 years ago. The run-off was ALL mud, and on the right side of the esses was a decent sized lake. As in, if you spin off into it, dont open your door. Early on, I put two off in the braking zone before the uphill and sunk half the tire in about 3 inches.
Had an absolute blast tho. It's been a long winter, but after the first session, I was back in the game and running safe, consistent, clean, fast laps. No official times, data acquisition is the next mod. Phil was back to his crazy, 11/10ths self by the end of the day, and Jason had an interesting day playing with fire in the Atom and was cutting fast times towards the end. Learning how to master a car like that is a huge challenge, but if anyone is up to it, it's the guy who has owned 12 different track cars in the last 2 years.
Jesse's very kind... I had a mixed day of being easy on it due to only 70 miles on it..getting used to it, and being nervous... The learning curve is larger on this car by a wide margin over any others. A minor malfunction caused and abrupt bit'o'fun .. on a WARM UP lap... we were just crusing... my brake bias went full rear due to a loose nut....heres what happens. Thankfully we werent going fast and braking in the normal braking zones... coulda been ugly.
Phil puss'd it, like we all did...at the beginning...then it was like he took a hit of acid and saw God.... and was giving Jesse a run for a while... He , as Jesse says, runs 11/10ths when turned on.
It was a blast...a good time around good people on what turned out to be a good day.
None of the pics are great.. he has sooo many, and its like, for most of them, he didnt consider the backround, and didnt get many shorts while in deep turns etc.... plain.. but I'd by some Jesse.

Someone has to tell Limerock that the most important pavement is on the track, not paving the paddock. I am not a fan, especially for the price. LRP's saving grace is that I think its a better newb track than some of the others in the area (except for that turn at the end of the esses/back "straight") which you can come across sideways and get scary into the wall there... too many vids on youtube of people losing it there.

J- There are more pictures of us than just the ones I posted
2fast- Totally agree, I'm sure they've heard it more than once with all the big name series that go there (ALMS, etc). LRP is in some financial trouble lately since SBRS took over so any track maintenance will be partially funded by Skippy as well. Hence the delay.

Hey I just noticed in your sig that the car behind yours on the trailer is spot on for mine... you know the owner? I dont know of a ton of guys tracking their F body (maybe the boy racer image???)
Yeah I figure if/when LRP goes under SB will just buy it ...
