Watkins Glen Pics

Borrowed from the guys at Track Time Photos while my cd is in the mail.

Some pretty cool Ferraris and Porsches showed up.

Gotta have the wheel-lift picture:

Upstate NY in the fall:

Had a blast running with a BMWCCA IP and a CM race car.

^^ Technically CMod, tho not built to maximize the rules. Was running roughly the same times we were. TONS of downforce/drag killed the motor advantages, but still had tons of brake and corner-stick.

And as usual, none of you homos came out all year long. It's easier to get chicks to come out to these things, and they have no appreciation for it. Check out my 5'2" passenger in the tall shot from the front, she can barely see out the windshield.

But seriously. Come out to the track. It's a hoot. Was able to cut a 2:13.148 this weekend which is getting close to (club racing) I-Prepared cars, and I still have 250lbs to lose, sticker rubber to put on, and 30-40whp gain.

But first I have a few months off to fix the car.... *Paging Boxersix*...

Wish myself along with everyone else had more track time this year. I know for me, time and money didn't allow for it this year. As much fun as track days are, they're equally expensive. My helmet was stolen this year (fuck) when my Evo was broken into, and with the ongoing dilemma's with my license, it was a shitty summer for play money. I had a hard time justifying spending the $20 for auto-x's I was able to attend and the occasional runs at LVD. You're right that it is a hoot, you can not have more fun in a car. Hopefully next year things will be better and I can make it out more. Nice pics, glad to hear things went well and you got home safe!

Too bad you couldnt make it Justin, you would've liked this crowd too. When you're ready to replace the helmet, let me know. I've got a few new ones laying around still.

Adam- A teensy weensy little hole in the chassis isnt so bad.
My issues are much less serious, and I have all winter to play with them. I skipped the last two hours on Sunday because (I think) my front left wheel bearing is toast too. But we'll be back in 2008 faster than ever.

And yeah, thats either one really short instructor or 115lbs of chick-ballast.

All the tracks around here are counter clockwise, so it figures the front left would go first. I have play now at 9 and 3, tie rods and BJs are new.

It's actually GMG's blue. The inside is the original BMW silver, pretty cool contrast. All of the removable body panels are CF.

Free. Just get on the guest list at the Glen, or show up at LRP or most other tracks.
