Irishweird00 is on a distinguished road

I saw it last night with the wife. And even she liked it, which is a surprise to me because i had to drag her to go see it. The story line was what it was. If you knew anything about the battle of Thermopylae going into the movie you would already have a bias on it. Historically the movie was pretty close, but it's not based on real events, it's based on a Graphic Novel that was based on real events.

The story line wasn't based on stopping the evil ring from getting in the hands of the orcs and the evil orc king! blah blah blah. Personally it's refreshing to pay 10 bucks, not be confused by some weak ass story line that confuses half the people that watch it and was poorly done anyway so it wouldn't matter.

Cliffs: Hurray for decapitations and blood splatter. Hurray for over the top characters and insanely visual cinematography. Hurray for an easy to follow yet extremely entertaining movie that does not leave you disappointed in any way, unless you like following 6 story lines in the same movie and walk away with a nose bleed. This is the movie that kids of today will look back on and get extremely pumped up like Conan movies did for me.

Shawn96VR-4 is an unknown quantity at this point

I just saw some HBO documentary on it and it looks much better than I thought. I am digging the dark backgrounds and gloomy frames.

I liked the movie even though i didnt think i was going to. Like someone said before, if you knew nothing about the actual event you wouldnt enjoy the movie as much.

here is my recap:

Pros:
based off an amazing historic event +1
filming/color +1
acting wasnt korny (no paul walker here) +1
not too long or too short +1

Cons:
Not 100% accurate -1
Weirdo creatures (saw arm guy, dino rino, hunchback of ND) -1
some slow-mo for stupid sh*t (walking through the field) -1
