Wtf!?

Ok so the past week and a half, I have had check engine lights on... yesterday, my motor started shutting off around hard corners.... I figured it was either, Oil in the intake, or Low on gas... So I filled the tank, and it still did it, so I pulled off the breather tubes and was going to get catch cans, but it still does it...

O and the check engine lights turned off today, despite the fact that I can get it to stall out every time I make a corner, and I think it is worse than it was before.....

Its fine WOT, but once you throw it in a corner it dies....

OIL IS @ FULL LINE....

I'm baffled...

Ok.. So the stored codes were:

Check Gas Cap Tight
Evap Control Systems


So... I played with it a bit, And ended up putting another quart of oil in and now it works great... Apparently my oil pan is dented.... I am going to keep it overfull and run it till I can afford a Skidplate AND a new oilpan.....

i dont think the dented oil pan would cause the car to sputter around hard corners though... even if it lost oil pickup the engine would still run...food for thought.

Ahh... Yea, that oil pan has nothing to do with an emissions CEL from a "loose" gas cap.

let me clarify... loose gas cap and evap leak will not cause it to spit and sputter either...theres something else fukked that isnt showing via diagnostics.

I thought about it.... Its been doing it since I took it to Jiffylube to have my oil changed... I am to fat to crawl around under there in my driveway, and atleast it gets done every 10k if I take it somewhere...

So yeah, I'm guessing if The pan is dented, they drained out the oil, and filled it back up to the "Full" line on the dipstick... If the pan is dented bad enough, I could be short 1 quart... and considering I burn a quart in 1200 miles (2.5weeks) I would have been down to 2 quarts... add a corner the equation and no oil goes in the pump... lol... I suppose I'll have to crawl under next weekend and check everything out...

Maybe? Just a thought...

My one friend recommended that maybe I cracked the pickup tube with a small dent? Who knows, I'll check it out this weekend...

highly suggest getting that looked at asap.. just ask travis what oilling issues can do to a motor

I figure its been like this for 2.5 weeks.. Whats one more :-D

Plus my pump has always made low pressure till I switched to 20-50....
