and as soon as you get pulled over or you go in for your next inspection and they scan the sticker they find it isnt linked to your vehicle and you get a ticket...

Half the time the damn things fall off just sitting in the sun. Ive had to tape a few back on my completely legit car.

My other car is old enough to just get a safety inspection.
