Yeah but FI is such a ghetto fix unless you have an unlimited budget for R&D on your setup. I miss my high-revving, FREE revving NA motor.
Euro 3.2l S50B32 = 7600rpm, 321bhp, individ. throttle bodies, dual vanos, hotness, etc.

Building a car to a spec racing class + Racing it in said class = way more fun than building a highpower car that all you can do with it, is go to Dragstrips and Street-race with, and are stuck competing with OPEN CLASS cars, where as your car is now BARELY modified...
Well for me anyways... It is more fun...

My car is Almost COMPLETELY modified for the STS class... I just need new struts, since mine are blown. Otherwise I have addressed every rule in the book for STS....
From what I can see on Jessies' M3 his car is BARELY modified for SM class.. Yes track classing is different than Auto-x, but alot of Racing series don't allow for addition of superchargers/Turbo changes...
I'm not saying his car is slow or crappy, But I have more fun modifying a car to the limit of rules, than just throwing shit @ at it to make it faster for no reason @ all... I want a Spec e36, that would be much fun

That would require you to go out and get a real job which you are completely against.

Autox means nothing to me. I dont even adjust my sway bars for an autox. I went to 2 last year. You win a handful of trophies autocrossing and then its boring.
My car is built to be a durable, fast track car. It's pretty close to EMRA and Redline TA mod classes for time trials, which I compete in. The car is $4000 away from being a competitive BMWCCA IP car which I was going to do until I realized [the paragraph below]. It was built for my enjoyment and it's built appropriately (read competitively) for what I do with it.
Building a car to compete in any race class is stupid. Buy someone elses successful car for half the cost of building your own. And I'm not talking autox where $500 for the car and $500 for parts gets you a shitty national championship winning car.
If you have the time/money/patience to build and race a Spec E36 car, go for it. It's a great series. Club racing isnt worth the time/money/patience to me unless I convert to IP and put my other motor back in. Before I do that, I'll buy a 996 Cup car and go destroy the old PCA guys because Porsche Motorsport designed that car to spec, not a DIY wrencher in his garage (me or anyone else).
Believe me, if I was competing for anything other than time trials, the car would be built to spec and competitive like when it was an SCCA BSP car. The rest of the time I just chase down C5 Z06s and GT3s because it makes me giggle.
