There is currently no way to open source his car the way its setup. He'd have to contact GIAC to get a reflash developed. VW is a PITA w/ that stuff. APR just came out w/ software for open source tuning I believe from what he was telling me which would make it possible to richen her up a touch.

Define "touch"? High 12s is almost 1.5AFR too lean for some tuners.
What does those cars run stock? Anyone know?

12.5 is the limit for my car if I'm gonna daily drive it... EG temps get too hot after that...

Way too lean for my tastes. I hate going past 11.7. The gains just aren't really worth it. I used to go into the LOW 12s but the EGTS just wasn't worth it.

12.5 is a safe number for my car... lots of guys run it on daily drivers with absolutely no problems... depending on the setup, they make anywhere from 290-330whp on the stock turbo and injectors

Thank you, for posting the sheets; was waiting for those. Anything richer than 12:1 is useless unless the car is prone to overheat. Under that your just wasting fuel. Some turbo app's will benefit from a little richer though depending on engine condition, setup, etc.
p.s. we'll discuss my reasoning on the dyno shit when i see ya'll in person. Too hard to sit here and go back 10 or 15 years to when mustang dynos straight sucked and were from the dark ages, while all the australian companies wen't charging ahead and developed the software and roller designs that everyone now uses.

Useless? Then please justify why the majority (I was close to saying all) FI cars come from the factory with a MUCH richer AFR. Moreover, why most tuners typically tune in the MID 11 AFR?

AFR is entirely dependent upon each individual car... I know on my Cavy it can run a 12.0 on pump all day and never have any issues whatsover. If I attemtped to run a 12.0 afr on my Cobalt it would likely break the ring lands after only a couple passes. The Cobalt needs to run a bit rich in order to compensate for the unequal fuel distribution the rail provides to the #4 cylinder. Right now i'm at 11.3afr on pump and will leave it there for safety seeing the car is my DD.

There are people who run obscene amounts of boost/timing w/o problems either. I am not saying you cannot. IMHO, the gains from running that lean are not worth the risk of the potential knock, increased EGT, etc..
To say it's "useless" when giving the fact that MANY tuners do not go past MID 11 (even regardless of octane) and factory cars come rich is not being realistic.

I agree completely man, leaning the car out that much makes you that much more prone to detonation and the increased egt's. That much risk for a few hp just isn't worth it to me. I'm also running meth on both cars to make things even cooler and safer
