If the bike was traveling in the same direction as the motorcycle it had every right to be in the same lane as it. Still is horrible when stuff like this happens though.

I would suspect that the MPH on the road is 45, however I am not for sure. The cyclists and motorcycle were heading towards each other.

Shayne was a pretty laid back, all around nice guy. It's a shame what has happened.

Something sounds strange then, why would they be in the same lane together if the bicyclist was heading at them. Or were they both going the same direction on the road?

I read it as someone was hogging the road and took out the other. Either the bicycler took a wide turn and hit the biker in his lane Or the biker cut the turn short and took out the bicycler. Head on collision either way.... bad news

I've got a similar story but no one died, except for my beautiful 85 scirocco which i still miss to this day. Bikers coming at me in their lane riding across the road. The fifth biker is weaving on the double yellow line, I crest the hill to see this dumbass weaving in the middle of the road. Swerve to avoid killing this darwin theory in action and i totaled the car. They didn't even stop to see if i was alright, a woman on the road saw the whole thing, so when the troopers came she went off about how these bicyclists use her road all the time for training but completely disregard all traffic laws. I'm not saying whether the bicyclist or motorcyclist was doing anything wrong. But in my experiences, stick to bike paths if your on a bike. Unfortunately were all supposed to share roads which aren't very big to begin with. Def. my opinion
