    Thumbs down

Never been to a formula d event. Wasn't too impressed with the first half being one car runs and was pretty pissed off that intermission was 2 fucking hours. I would have like to see some more exhibition stuff too. Also, what's up with Alex Pfieffer being an announcer? One of North Americas top drifters and he's sitting behind a desk? What happened to the S2000? It wasn't a total waste but I definitely won't bother going to another.

pfieffer made his own decision to judge. he has been doing it for 2 years now. he is doing the nopi drift sessions this year.

as for more intermission things, they usually have tarzan yamada with his viper doing ride alongs and drift demos.........but i dont know what happened this year. i know that there have been a lot of insurance changes made where things that used to happen are no longer allowed. we media had to wear closed toed shoes and pants in order to be on the track.....shorts always used to be allowed. the time inbetween the 1st and 2nd round allow for re-tunes, judging finalizations, manditory driver meetings as well as the ability for time to allow for interaction between the drivers and the fans. its too bad that you werent impressed, im not really sure what you were expecting to have happen, but over all, it was not a bad event

I guess I was expecting it to be more like the gymkhana event I went to in Toronto quite a few years back; huge interaction with the crowd and tons of exhibition. I figured there wasn't going to be any novice/amateur drivers at this event but I really expected the drivers to at least attempt to entertain the crowd even when they spun/crashed/etc. Almost every time someone spun out, they just made a bee-line straight to the pits or start-line, even when running tandem. You can definitely see how americanized this has already become. I actually found myself walking around the show area quite often. At the TO event, I never left the barrier. My ears were ringing and my throat was hoarse like I left a rock-concert and I was covered head-to-toe in rubber. I just think Formula D isn't my style.
