UFC 78: Validation - Saturday November 17th @ 10pm
I'll be ordering this on Pay Per View. If anyone is interested in attending, please feel free to post here. No superstars but a very solid fight card which should produce some great action. Everyone is welcome, just ask that you toss in a couple of bucks towards the cost of the fight. Look forward to seeing some folks.

Liddell isn't washed up, but he's past his prime and fights in a very taleneted weight class. Coutoure takes less abuse with his Grecko/"Dirty" Boxing style of fighting and is able to control the pace of the fight more. Liddell is a stand up striker that is open to abuse as was shown vs both Jackson and Jardene. Jardene remember was just CRUSHED by Houston Alexander and was supposed to be a warm-up for Liddell before facing the Axe Murderer. Is Chuck washed up? Probably not. Does he still deserve to be considered one of the best in his weight class? Probably. Will he be able to dominate like he once did? I don't think so. He is a counter puncher who has lost a half a step. When you're a counter puncher, you need to have 110% of your reflexes. I think Chuck is beyond that at this point. Watch any of Chucks fights, he is always at his best when retaliating, not when attacking. He counters, then finishes. He's not a forward-first fighter, his style is much like Mirko Cro Cop in that they both strike VERY well going away from you. Still has the potential to knock people out, but at this point has to be considered in bad shape in his weight class with the amount of talent up and coming.

Being Evans wrestled at Michigan State and is from Detroit, I've followed his career a bit (he owned my Michigan Wolverines every time they had a match) and he won 3 NCAA Championships in his weight class. The guy can flat out bang. I look forward to seeing his career progress and where he ends up. People forget that he won The Ultimate Fighter reality show in the HEAVYWEIGHT division. Him fighting at 205 is almost unfair strength wise. Tito is considered strong at 205 and Evans handled him, despite the draw. Rest of the card is real good. Can't wait to see the insanely strong Houston Alexander fight again. The guy is a flat out aggressive lunatic. Lots of good stuff, I could go on all day but won't.
