Pics from Watkins Glen - TrackMasters - 7/20-21/05

Didn't really have the camera set up when I gave it off to a friend of mine to shoot so a majority of the shots didn't come out great. Oh well, excuse to go back again soon.

This event was brutal!!! A LOT of money hit the wall and went home early. Two club spec Porsches blew engines, one GT3 smacked the armco wall twice in the Esses (see pic), a beautiful MINT wine red hard-top Z4 (heavily modded, with very expensive taste) spun after the inner loop and hit the wall facing backwards down the track about 500feet in front of me while I'm doing 120+mph (no pics of damage, mainly cosmetic but lots of it). An Alfa Romeo spun into the wall on the last turn of the last lap of the last session of the last day. I'm forgetting some others too.

On with the pics. I have some crazy stories from this one so make sure you dont get me started on them next time you see me.

This beautiful machine....

Ended up looking like...

Notice the how bent the wheel is on the ground. The wheel on the front is being put on so that the car can roll onto the trailer. The rear snapped 2 control arms and an A-arm. Body damage on both sides from rear to doors, sideskirts and front fenders. The instructor, Allan (standing) had cuts on his arms, a bloody nose, and bad marks on his neck from his chin trap and neck restraint. Driver (sitting) came out mostly ok.

Yours truly slingshotting around turn 10 in hot pursuit of a pack of C5s.

You supply a TM photographer and you got a deal. :mrgreen: Every time I went through the pics off my not-set-up camera I kept thinking, "crap I wish Centola didnt have a real job and could've come."

Do you have any scheduled for the rest of the year? Next year we'll have to plan better, and start training for the One Lap :disturbed:

My rest of the year is going to be short notice even for me. Nothing is definite but I'm on two waiting lists and trying to get my cousin to push them through for me. One is VIR, one is LRP. I may do something down at school too. One of the officers from Patroon BMWCCA approached me and asked me if I'd be interested in teaching an autox school this summer too, which could be some cool shots too.

Next year we'll plan it up and do it right and get ready to nail the One Lap so good we'll make magazine feature stories. :disturbed:
