Six Hours of The Glen

I finally got around to converting a few photos from last weekend. Here are some of the grand-am cars.

Amazing shots. What was you're main shutter speed? I'm never sure what I can get away with to still get the motion blur on the wheels. I think I used 1/80 for my recent auto-x pics, but I seem to have quite a few blurry pics.

I was using 1/320 for most places and it was borderline for wheel blur. 1/250 was better for background/wheel blur but you get less keepers. They were going a little faster than auto-x cars though

All of those are 1/320. They still have the exif data attached if you want to look at it.

Just take more pictures and delete the blurry ones when you get home. I took about 2700 over 3 days.

Edit: Since you're a photo guy... go here Opanda.com - Professional Photography Software (DigitalFilm, PowerExif, IExif, PhotoFilter) and install the opanda exif viewer and then install the browser plugin. Then you can right click > view exif data when you're looking at pictures on the internet.

In raw, I think my 8gb card holds like 350 pics @ 12MP full frame.
Everything was in raw, 8mpixel. I have 4 2GB cards and a hyperdrive to dump them to when they're all full. I think about 200-250 fit on a 2GB card.

If you have an IS lens, you can get away with longer shutter speeds, and the optical stabilization will help.
This is true for objects that are not moving, IS stabilizes you not you're subject. IS mode 2 is designed for panning shots.

Yeah, thats one thing I don't have. I would have to dump them onto my laptop if I ran out of space. I may pick up another 8gb Extreme IV card soon, but thats if I start to do weddings.

I think the 4 Gig ultra 2's are you're best buy, not only the price, but also if you encounter an error with one card you don't have 7 other gig of pictures down the tubes.
