lol. the sad face carried over when this got split from the original thread.

i hope this lens is nice. It costs too much to suck.

Why do you want to sell the 17-40 and get the 16-35? I never paid much attention to those lenses. The 17-40 is F4 IIRC, is the 16-35 faster?

yeah the 16-35 is f/2.8 and ~$1200, the 17-40 is f/4 and around $700 new...

I doubt I'll end up doing that....more than likely I'll keep the 17-40, and get either a fisheye or one of the 14mm primes or something like that. With the 5D, I can't use my 10-22, and I'm not sure I want to switch cameras just to use that lens...

the whole EF vs. EF-S lens thing sucks. I have a couple EF-S lenses so if I ever get a better body I have to either get something that accepts them or sell them. I'd probably keep them. The 30D is way more camera than I'll ever need and I think they work on that. I only take pictures for a hobby, not for money so I don't need anything too great.

A backup body is a must. People ask me to take pictures for money all the time because they know i don't do it as a business so i'd be cheap. I always turn them down because if something ever broke i'd be screwed. Well that and even though the pictures they see might be pretty good, they don't see all the crap I delete to get a few good ones

If you sell the 20D let me know. I might be interested depending on my toy fund at the moment and how much use it's seen.
