Software to organize photos?

I've been using ACDsee to organize my photos into categories to find specific things later and use the thumbnail view for browsing through new photos to delete the bad ones and flag the good ones for editing. ACDSee has an editor but I don't use it.

Anyone know of anything that I can use to group photos into categories to keep them organized but will let me open them for editing in photoshop right from there? Acdsee isn't connected to photoshop so it's a pain in the ass. Does adobe bridge let you categorize photos or flag them as "keepers"? Whatever I figure out has to be able to handle raw files.

I'm setting stuff up on my new computer and don't have photoshop to check it out yet.

I think adobe bridge does a lot of that. There's also adobe lightroom which is pretty sweet.

I use aperture on my mac and it does a good job of organizing the raw files...
