Ok this is a service I will DEFINITELY be using! Good luck with the business, tight market, low overhead, if you can generate the revenue, should be sweet! Before my next road trip I'll be grabbing a V1 from you guys.
Do SCCA members get an additional 10% off?
I know the K40 Calibre isn't a transferrable unit, but have you guys ever used it?
We'll save a V1 for you
In regards to the additional discount, I'm afraid not (but nice try!). If you apply for more than one discount you will be credited with the largest of the two.
Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with the K40 system, but did find a very helpful set of reviews over at Autoblog. Make sure to read the user submitted comments down at the bottom of the pages as well, they are very informative. Here are the two links:
SML has published its report (pdf and html) and concludes that the Calibre's performance is "unwavering and accurate on all radar frequencies used by police." While many of us aren't able to raise the capital to own a K40 system, at least we know when the dough does start rolling in that we'll get what we pay for.
Great idea, especially if you're taking a long trip in an unfamiliar area. You never know where the local speedtraps are!
This was exactly our thought. It's also good for people who live in regions where radar detectors aren't allowed. Now they can rent a detector only for the times they are travelling through other states!

I know, I know! You'd be amazed at how many things just randomly spring up on you... NYS has not been the most amenable "business partner," if you will.
