IDk either, i guess they traded him away because they felt he would be hard to resign next year? Hes the best player they have, you do whatever it takes to make sure he gets signed, IDk about some of the moves the bills make, is this the same GM that gave Rob Johnson a ton aof money? The giants are driving me crazy, they released 4 solid players, and havent replaced one of them yet, and they lost there kicker! i loved jay feely
A star RB? Are you effing kidding me? This trade was AMAZING for Buffalo! *Keep in mind I am a Lions fan* Willis was ALL TALK. He never lived up to his potential in the NFL. He rarely sees the endzone and his YPC is UNDER 4! This is a guy who's attitude is horrible, has a ton of off the field problems, 3 babies and 3 different babies momma's...the guy is a nightmare. He can't block, has a rebuilt knee... What did you possibly see in him besides all of the hype? If my team that had a "star" running back that had under a 4 yard per carry avg. and rarely scored I wouldn't want my team to pay him either. There are many good backs out there, and this year has a deep draft class at that position. Chris Brown from TN is due to meet with Buffalo as well as Dillion. Dillion is aging but proved he's still a good downhill running. Brown, like Dillion, is a good downhill runner but does run a little bit upright for my taste. Look for the Bills to pass on these guys and draft someone and work him up behind who they already have. Great move for the Bills. Saved them millions in cap money.
I dont think they utilized willis nearly as much as they should have. He would get a couple touches early on, not have much success then the coaching staff would totally forget about him. he needs the carries to succeed. They rarely got him the ball deep in the redzone. Just watch how well he does in baltimore with 25+ carries a game. he'll be in the probowl. I do agree on his blocking skills being subpar but I just hate this move, buffalo has dumped pretty much anyone of value to build for the future and stay under the cap. They have been in rebuilding mode since the music city miracle I think its time to try and stick it out with a group. as far as Dillon and brown that is just another thing that drives me nuts, they trade away a young player for picks to build for the future then they bring in a washed up back. It just makes no sense.
I think you'll be happy to see the talent they're able to sign with all the extra money they've freed up by dumping Willis. They already have a good corps of WR's, a QB who has tons of talent and is still learning to play in the NFL, and a solid defensive unit. They'll compete for a wild card spot this year if they can avoid the sluggish start they've fallen victim to the past couple seasons.
