Top 10 QBs of all time

Well im bored, i figured we could go position by position of who YOU think is the greatest of all time. Ill start with QB. This is my opinion on who i think are the 10 greatest quarterbacks of all time in the NFL

1. Joe Montana (4 super bowls...nuff said, although i could have won 4 throwing to rice and taylor)

2. John Elway (great arm, elusive running, never had a great wide reciever and before terell davis he never had a even average running back, won 2 super bowls, went to 5 super bowls)

3.Johnny Unitas (a pioneer in the league, won several titles, a bunch of mvps and ran the team, called most of the plays. Piitsburgh must be pissed they cut him lol)

4. Bart Starr (the guy won 7 titles and was mvp of super bowl I and II)

5. Terry Bradshaw (4 for 4 in super bowls, very underrated offense because of there D. Bradshaw, Harris, Swann, and Stallworth is one of the greatest foursomes ever.

6. Dan Marino (never won the big one but put up huge numbers and had his team in the mix of things every year, never had a RB that was worth a dick)

7. Fran Tarkenton (went to 3 super bowls and never won one of them but owned almost all major passing reecords before Dan Marino. Was also a great runner)

8. Brett Favre (2 mvps, 2 super bowl appearances winning 1 of them, has a freakin cannon, won back to back mvps)

9. Tom Brady (3 super bowls in 4 years.....nuff said)

10. Steve Young (if he wasnt behind Montana he would have won all those super bowls, one of the greatest running qbs ever, i believe he still has the highest qb rating of all time, very accurate, and a lefty!)

There this is MY top 10

1. John Elway - nobody in history could bring a team from behind like he could. If he was surrounded with a better supporting cast he would have won every playoff game he ever played in.
2. Joe Montana - always did enough to win. Smart quarterback. Roger Craig, John Taylor, Jerry Rice...this team was LOADED with talent.
3. Terry Bradshaw - despite his horrible pre and post game commentary for FOX he was an amazing quarterback in his day.
4. Dan Marino - if Miami EVER put a running back behind him he could've won more games and possibly a championship. Until Peyton Manning, he held almost every NFL record for QB's. Threw to Mark and Mark who used to be amazing to watch. One of my favorite QB to WR/WR combo's of all-time.
5. Troy Aikman - very Joe Montana like. Smart quarterback, accurate passer, good arm, surrounded by HOF caliber players. 3 Super Bowl rings and 1 Super Bowl MVP. Much better NFL commentator than Bradshaw
6. Bart Starr - 2 Super Bowl appearances, 2 wins, 2 MVP's. Nothing wrong with that.
7. Tom Brady - 3 Super Bowl appearances, 3 wins, 2 MVP's. And he's STILL playing. Could end up being one of the top 3 by the end of his career.
8. Peyton Manning - Got the Super Bowl ring to highlight his HOF career. Is going to hold every QB record by the time his career is over. Besides maybe Super Bowl wins because he's in the same conference as Tom Brady.
9. Roger Staubach - brought the Cowboys to 4 Super Bowls, won 2, and received the MVP award once. Last player to beat the Dolphins before they went undefeated in 1972 (beat them in the Super Bowl in 71).
10. Brett Favre - perhaps the most fun QB to watch in NFL history. Nobody has ever or will ever play the position with as much flare or passion as Brett Favre. Led the Packers to a Super Bowl victory and has what many would argue to be the greatest arm EVER. True gun slinger like Elway, Marino, Kosar.

I am almost wondering if Randall Cunningham deserves top 10. He had a cannon of an arm and he was THE quarterback who pioneered the rushing game at the QB position. I think he is near the top, but I dunno who I would take out.

sounds good walt. i look forward to comparing lists. I don't love Troy Aikman but have to reward his outstanding achievements throughout his career.

Jim EFFING Kelly?!? Are you kidding me?!? The guy had more talent on his team than anyone could shake a stick at! Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed, James Lofton...I could go on all day. If they had a halfway decent QB they would've won at LEAST one of the four super bowls. Sad. Sad. Sad. Sorry Bills fans.

Same state and another "athletic" position school that has problems producing NFL caliber QB's. Sorry to diss Jesse Palmer like that. LOL. How about we do the NFL's best QB's that went to college in FL? Off the top of my head I can think of Daunte Caulpepper, Danny Kanell, Jesse Palmer, Rex Grossman, Vinny Testaverde, and now I've drawn a blank...
