1. Lawerence Taylor - Love him or hate him. He was a monster on the field and caused huge problems for any team he faced. Freakish athlete.
2. Jack Lambert - In my opinion he pioneered the middle LB position. Anchoring the Steel Curtain and punishing all that came his way. Amazing to see the angles he took to make plays.
3. Dick Butkus - Would you want to get hit by him. Even today? Nope. He was a baaaaaaad man.
4. Mike Singletary - Mr. Intensity. I don't think I EVER saw Singletary miss a tackle. A true professional in every aspect of the game.
5. Ray Lewis - Another simply freakish athlete. Also, the man is quite clearly insane. Along with being a great player, despite his off the field problems, he is an amazing team leader and can fire up everyone around them and get them to play beyond their potential. That to me makes him even more valuable as a player.
6. Roy Winston - Even though the front 4 "Purple People Eaters" got most of the attention in Minnesota during their 4 Super Bowls Winston was brutal. If anyone has ever seen the hit he put on Csonka in 72...Csonka went to catch a ball in teh flats and Winston hit him so hard that everyone that Csonka was going to be split in 2. You could hear him screaming even on TV. He then CRAWLED OFF THE FIELD SCREAMING. Did not even wait for the medical staff. *Thankfully he wasn't seriously hurt* Also, this was the only (I think) hit ever to be televised from the NFL ont he Johnny Carson show
7. Ray Nitschke - Played angry, hit angry, just wreckless. I like him
8. Junior Seau - Long time Charger turned Patriot who has always reminded me of Mike Singletary. Intense yet fundamental in every aspect of the game.
9. Derrick Thomas - (Come on Walt, how can you ignore Derrick Thomas!?!) If there was ever a LB that could rush the corner like LT it may have been Derrick Thomas. Amazing athlete that was deceivingly quick off the line and could drop back in coverage when necessary. Passed before his time but was IMO one of the greatest to play the position.
10. Lee Roy Jordan - (Where are you on this one too, Walt??

) Anchored the "Doomsday Defense" for the Dallas Cowboys under Tom Landry and led the team to 3 Super Bowls while making 5 pro bowls and was a two-time all-pro. He was undersized for his position but god damn could he play football.
