Absolutely dominated Tank Abbott last night. The whole EliteXC fight card was great to watch. Some unreal KO's!

As much as i enjoy watching Kimbo...not a huge accomplisment by beating someone who is a washed up ufc fighter, he's 43, compared too Kimbo who is 34. Just my opinion...not impressive.
P.S. Justin before you get all defensive...just remember I never once stated Kimbo is not a good fighter, because he is...just not a good matchup, maybe if Tank was 10 years younger it would have been much better.

You have to remember, Kimbo is still an MMA rookie who's considered an up and coming talent. MMA fighters are groomed much the same as boxers. Their first handful of fights their management tries to setup fights that feels suits them well in order to gain good ring experience and learn to harness their energy and talents within the realm of the fight. 2-3 more fights and you'll see him in the rings with more polished MMA fighters.

understood, but they could have found someone who might have put up a little more of a challenge, that fight was as one sided as you could get, great moral boost for him, but what happens for the next fight?

I disagree...anytime you face a striker it's very dangerous because one punch can change the fight. Kimbo's first opponent was a grappler who did NOT want to stand and bang with Kimbo, and Kimbo floored him in 18 seconds. Tank wanted to stand and trade with Kimbo but Kimbo's superior hand speed and ability really shined and he made Tank look his age. I'd imagine now that Kimbo ended the long time rivalry and got the fight he wanted he'll allow Bas Rutten and his team to continue him on the path to the top of the heavyweight division.

the kimbo/tank fight was the worst fight of the night and I knew it would be that way from just looking at the card. Tank is not a MMA fighter anymore (9-14), he is a bar brawler. He had a shot back in the day when MMA wasn't so technical, but now... not a chance. Well of course he has a punchers chance, but thats true with every fighter. Kimboneeds to fight a top contender to prove himself. So far he hasn't proved shit and if it stays like this for a couple more fights than he will start to lose fans.
Kimbo has way more hype than brock lesnar did and they stuck brock against the former heavyweight champ in his debut fight.... it's Kimbo's turn to step to the plate.

...and Lesnar got submitted. Kimbo's people that handle him wanted to get him in the cage and see how he'd react first. If he couldn't beat the guys they expected him to beat, how could he hang with a contender? They're just bringing him along at the normal pace for someone with no professional fighting experience. Lesnar has years of professional wrestling (no I'm not talking about the WWE) experience so his handlers may have been more comfortable putting him in the cage against a fighter like Mir. Now they have to start over with Brock, where as Kimbo is gaining confidence.

exactly, a year or two ago this guy was basically street fighting for cash and posting vids on youtube. Now hes in the MMA and working his way up. It will probably take a year or two to get his full potential. Then we can judge.
