Couple tweaks to the front end, MUCH better!

Here are a couple of pics of what I did today real quick, took about 10 minutes. I ended up with about 1-1.25 inches of lift in the front. It is much closer to level now, I might be able to tweak a little more out of it to get closer to level, but I am gonna let the suspension settle for a bit before I go too crazy. Worst case, I can get a different set of keys for the torsion bar for like 20 bucks that will get me 2-3 inches from stock so it could easily be level.

Anyway, the first pic is how it was sitting before, the second pic was how it was right after I did it and then third is after going for a ride and giving the suspension some time to "settle." (It actually went up some after the ride)

Not too bad for free.

After some time to "settle":

Thanks. I might try and get a little more out of it in the next few days, but I am happy even with the way that it sits now.

how's the baby going to be able to get in now?!?!?
There is a torsion bar that goes from one side to the other and there is a "key" on both sides that can be used to adjust the ride height one way or another. So to crank up the height you just need to tighten two bolts (one of either side) which basically pushes up on the key raising the front end.

The only "downsides" are that if you adjust it too much you could hit your bump stops early and you also have less travel one way in the front shocks. One of the advantages of the design is for when you have multiple powerplant options, that way if you have one motor that is much heavier than another then the suspension can easily be adjusted to compensate.

Pretty soon I am gonna have to figure out how to get Missie in there, nevermind the baby.

Doesn't this mean that any load in the bed will cause the truck to take a nose-up attitude? Wouldn't you want to avoid that?

There is still about an inch difference between the back and the front so I don't think it should be too bad. I will just have to play it by ear. The next time I haul something I am going to check it out and make sure everything looks good. Many Avalanche owners have done this and I don't think I have seen anyone complain about the front going nose up when there is a load in the back.
