Does anyone make upgraded CV cages for your platform? DSS makes axles for my MR2, but they're rarely needed, the OEM units are so strong. The most popular upgrade for my platform is a set of thicker CV cages with matching bearings. They've proven highly effective for 500whp cars on slicks. As long as your splines and the rest of the axle can handle it, it may be an upgrade worth looking into.

dss changes the spline on all of their axle upgrades for my car. I'll have to buy the whole half shaft... My problem, for now, is only the joint. Eventually I'm gonna have to drop big bucks on axles... not looking forward to it at all...

I do at least a pair every year. Autozone lifetimes > mopar units. Pay once, break a bunch.

I have to say I have done at least 8 or 10 axels in my neon so far, and I am making WAY less power than you.

It's a Dodge...reinforcing things that never need it. My D.A. weighed in at ~3000 and that car was a bit bigger than the neon.

Couple DSM guys have sent CV cups and cages out to be cryo treated and have had fair luck with them. new halfshafts torn down and cryo'ed, then re-assembled. Still far cheaper than DSS, which have been know to break as well from time to time.

Ah the woes of FWD.....get a quaife and watch what happens then. I used to shear the passenger shaft all the time.

No. 3750. They weigh about 300LBS more than the Supra/300ZX due to AWD.
