Stop Shining up your tires before an event!

Just noted that waaaay too many cars came to the last autocrosses with tire shine all over them. Its all well and good for show, and i have to admit that it looks good... but when you are driving on it... not so great. That shit is slick as hell..

Just common sense, but I figured I'd throw it out there...

i think tire shine is totally ok, unless ur an idiot and spray the whole tire just just the sidewalls and try racing on that

I dont Really see how tire shine would affect traction unless you spray the whole tire and not just the sidewall..

some people are retarded and wouldn't think about not spraying their entire tire before a race... thats why those people do sucky at the races.. i say let them be sucky as long as their not in our club

Even if you spray just your sidewalls, when you race, your tires roll over onto their sideways, making it very slick at the worst possible time. So, whatever you do, DON'T shine your tires before a race....

Yup, exactly. Apparently some people haven't autocrossed before. Shining up tires is pretty dumb before a race other than for trying to show off the car.

we should have a wheel shining booth at the autox's and tell people well shine their wheels for free, just to sabotage the competition
