The tire manufacturer will probably have the best baseline pressure. Really the best way to figure out how much is to monitor your 60ft times and your trap speeds. You want to run as high psi as possible because a tire running higher psi has a lower rolling resistance but if your 60ft's are really starting to suffer, you're going to ruin your et even if you're trapping high so come back down with the psi.
Double edge sword as you use slicks to get the short time but lose it on the back end.

yeah like shawn and cavi said if its too low its not worth it sometimes even if the 60 ft is good. if the car isnt making enough power its gonna suck trying to spin slicks with 8psi in them on the back half of the track.
but when it does make enough power, oh your in for a fun ride lol. first time i drove a fwd car with slicks i was like OMG WTF is this! never felt traction like that in first-second gear. a 1.6 sixty foot feels so hard off the line i could only imagine a 1.2/1.3 like some of these muscle cars cut.
im guessing you are talking about the k series car, what size slicks do you have currently?
